Ideas for Social work group

My brain is fried with lesson plan ideas.. Our month's theme is humanity and I was going  to have them make xmas cards for someone but do not know who. There was a little boy with cancer who wanted xmas cards the parents were overwhelmed with the amout. I am looking for a similar idea.??

    St. Jude's Children's Hospital

    I wonder if there is still something like mailing random soilders?  The USO would know.
