Afternoon Slump

All this week, after lunch I have this strong urge to go to sleep.  I have ZERO energy! It usually picks back up a little after I leave work for the day.  I am literally sitting at my desk right now yawning. Anyone else?  Maybe I just can't wait for Friday and to be off for 1 1/2 weeks.

  • It's only 12:07 my time - I havent even taken my lunch yet and from about 8am-5pm I am in the same boat as  you!

  • I feel like I'm in an all day slump. I have a feeling its because I stopped working out a few weeks ago and as a result, I'm gaining weight faster and feel as big as a house.

    I really want to start going back to the gym to at the very least get on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I think that would help alot. But of course, by the time I get home from work and picking DD up from preschool at 6pm, all I want to do is NOT go to the gym. I'm using the holidays as an excuse now but we all know there will always be an excuse not to work out. I just need to get my fat a*s to the gym.

  • I posted the other day about my lack of stamina at the gym these days.  I used to work out 6 days a week.  Now I'm down to about 3 days.  I made myself a goal to go walking at least 20 minutes a day every day that I am off work.  This will probably not happen a couple of days due to travel, but I am going to try.

     I am going to go walk around the office to try and perk myself up and maybe get a little chocolate treat from the break room.

  • My slump comes in the evening (around this time....that's why I'm on the computer now).  I have a hard time staying awake.
  • I seem to be a morning person lately and I have told my boss that the later my lunch is the better productive I am cos after lunch I just want to fall asleep and thats all I want to do.  So lately I start work around 9 am. and try to hold lunch off till around 2 pm. and they I only work till 4 pm. so that is working better now.  I am down to working 4 days a week rather than 5 so that is helping too.  I am ready for bed at 7 but can't cos of the kids so when I do go to bed around 10 pm. I am lucky that I sleep most of the night.  Walking does help I find if I can put a walk in during the day even if its only 15 minutes it does help.
