How long should I wait to call my gyno?

Let me first say, I am most definitely not PG.  I've POAS several times, the last time being just a couple of hours ago - BFN.  But I haven't gotten my period since October 21.  Before that, I had been on birth control pills for 2 cycles.  I had just started after not being on anything since before getting PG the first time.  I got my period at the end of the first pack but not at the end of the second and haven't since.  Before I started the pill, I had a pretty regular 28 to 30 day cycle since I since about 6 months post partum.  My doctor told me that it could take my body a few months to regulate after I start taking the pill but since everything seemed fine after the first pack/cycle, I figured I was good.  But now this.  I'm not worried about being PG, I just don't know if there might be something else wrong.  I haven't started a new pack since I didn't get my period.  I'm not sure what to do.

ETA:  Just wondering if this is normal after starting the pill?

Re: How long should I wait to call my gyno?

  • I wouldn't know about normal on the pill - I stopped using it as a form of BC before we got married, but when mine went missing they said 3 months is when they gave meds to try and restart cycles.  Before then, they said it was a wait and see kind of thing.  They told me missing a cycle here and there wasn't anything to worry about.

  • It can be normal, especially wHen you are on a certain type of pill. For myself, I took loestrin 24 for that exact reason for several years- and am starting back up. I didn't have a period for over two years on it, and it was lovely. :)

  • I'd wait another month and then call if AF hasn't shown by then. Hormonal BC can really throw off your cycle. If it were me I would just give my body some time to normalize, especially since you know you're not pregnant.

  • I'm not sure it's good to just stop taking the bc pills after only 2 cycles. Your body was probably adjusting to the hormones after the 2nd pack and is adjusting again since you stopped taking them.

I would give it another month and then call.
