Ergo Infant Insert ?

Mobile: Ergo Infant Insert ?

So we have the Ergo and the Insert but I'm not really a fan of the insert and Z just seems to tolerate it. I'm just not sure when we can try without it. Z had her 2mos well check today and is 10lbs 5oz. I know the insert says under 12lbs and 4mos.

What say you? When did/will you feel comfortable forgoing the insert? Am I crazy for considering it already? How will I know she's ready?

If this has been asked before I apologize. I haven't been able to keep up here lately.

    I don't love the insert right now like I did when she was smaller. Am using the Bjorn instead. Do you have one?

    I started using it without the insert when he was just over 10lbs, and it was so much better. He hated the insert!

    You could always trying rolling a blanket under his butt if it seems like he still needs a little boost without the insert. My babies aren't even 8 lbs yet, so they are still comfortably fitting with the insert.

    No bjorn or moby. How do I go about positioning the banket? Just like she'd fit around the pillow in the insert?

    Update: I tried the blanket and it was great! Went on my first post baby walk and it was a hit! Might have been too much pushing my 25lbs toddler in the stroller and wearing the baby but it was needed!
