Breastfeeding and Period

This might be a weird question, but was wondering when it is normal for period to return when breastfeeding. My DD is almost 11 months old, I am still breastfeeding, and still haven't had period. Wondering if this is normal? Thanks!

Normal - there is no magic range - some women have to wean completely to get a cycle back; others cycle right away.

If it makes you feel better, I've not had a period since March 2008 (finally ovulated after night weaning Callum but caught the first egg so never had a period).

I second that everyone is different. My period returned at 3 months postpartum, but my sister has a 6.5 month old and still doesn't have af. There really is no way to tell.

Thanks for the answers! I do BF her quite a bit so that probably has a lot to do with it. I guess I was just worried, because after I stopped birthcontrol, I had to take clomid in order to start ovulating again. (I never had any issues before birthcontrol). So just looking to see if others didn't get their periods for extended periods of time or not.

I EBF/pump and with DD#1, I didn't get my first pp period for 9 months. with DD#2 (almost 4 months old), still nothing...hoping I can go a few more months, too!

With DS1 I got it back when he turned 7 months. With DS2 I just got it back this Sunday and he had just turned 11 months. It all depends on your body, how often baby is nursing, if LO takes a paci, etc.

The range is huge and you are normal. Mine came back at 17 months. Dd was nursing about three or four times a day at that point.
