This is what they prescribed for me and they said it was OK with breastfeeding, but baby seems REALLY sleepy. I looked online and many sources say not to take Naproxen. Planning to call but of course now not sure if I should take it tonight. Maybe ask my ob to switch the naproxen to ibuprofen???
Anyone else on these drugs and breastfeeding and what did your doctor say?
Also, for how long did you take the drugs? I've cut way back on the Oxy but still taking a few each day plus the Naproxen.
Re: Naproxen and Oxycodone and breastfeeding
I was prescribed Naproxen and Motrin. I also noticed that baby was sleepy after taking the Naproxen. When I spoke with the nurse about it she said that baby would be getting some of it through my breastmilk so I stopped taking the Naproxen but took the Motrin as prescribed (I can't remember how often it was). I was in a bit more pain than I would have been but I just didn't like the idea of baby getting some of those meds even though they are deemed safe.
I took the Naproxin for 3 days pp and then switched to the Motrin and took that for about a week pretty regularly.
