Tip/Bonus for in-home daycare provider?

Hi Everyone! Just trying to get opinions on whether or not I should give a cash tip/bonus to my in-home daycare provider. And if so, how much? I already purchased a $25 gift, but now am questioning if that is enough. TIA!

  • If you have the means to, it's good form to do so.  Traditionally, you would give an extra week or two of pay.  But if that's too much for you, an extra $25-$50 would probably do fine, especially since you already bought her a gift.

  • I watch 2  kids (1-2 times a week) and one family gives me $100 gift card to Target (which is 1 week pay) the other just gives me a card.  I say anything is very welcome...so the gift is nice! If you want to throw in a small gift card to somewhere that is great, but the gift should be plenty.

  • We tipped 200 to our nanny. Her hours vary depending on our schedules but that works out to be about 1/3 of a week's pay.
