While doing our Christmas cards I came across my Mom's best friend's address. I know she lost her husband to cancer this past year and was also affected by dirty hurricane Sandy--talk about a rough year.
I sent her a Christmas card with 3 pictures; 2 of her and her husband with a sticky note saying what a lovely couple they were and one of she and my mom.
I know it may be odd to get a card from us, but I hope she finds comfort from the pictures and the memories each hold.
Alright, my husband did one, but I thought you'd appreciate how your efforts are spreading even wider than you thought! I've been telling him about how great all you guys are. I've done a couple very small things, nothing worth reporting, but my husband knows I've been trying and he gets it.
Anyway, he saw an opportunity and went for it! He was at a busy intersection and saw a man who had just spilled a ton of boxes out the back of his pickup truck and was blocking a lane of traffic picking them up one by one. Like, it was going to be a lot of work. But my hubby pulled over at the next parking lot and joined the man in picking up boxes. He introduced himself and asked him if he needed help, but started helping anyway. According to my husband, the guy was just shocked, but so happy! He kept saying, "you pulled over just to help me?!" They worked and chit chatted and got it cleaned up and he was on his way.
Turns out the guy had loaded the boxes with canned food donations that had been collected and were going to a soup kitchen for Christmas!! Becca, does that give you goosies?! Look what you've done, girl!

Total goosies!
I think about what the man is saying to his family tonight since he was so shocked! I bet he is thrilled! I love that your H's kindness not only helped that man today, but an entire soup kitchen! That is so great! You never know what confounds are involved when doing something for another! I bet all of those things that you do, that you feel are not worth reporting have the same trickle down as your H's good deed!
