Friday night L picked up the kids and I met them to go to the craft store and Target. Got home late and got the kids to bed late. L left to
go write and I avoided the news by watching Scandal.
Saturday -
Lazy morning at home. Took the kids to Pollo Campero for lunch (after
months of begging to go) and then to a couple of Old Navys to try to
find Carter pants for the school performance. Figured out that ON pants
don't fit him. Met L at home and we got ready to go to my work office
party. A lot of people didn't come and it was very low key, but the kids
had a great time playing with the other kids. L was starving when we
left and so we went to dinner. We were eating dinner
at the kids bed time and they were barely hanging on. Got them to bed
only an hour late, but you would have thought it was midnight. Clearly, I
don't have night owls for children. Avoided the news some more.
Sunday
- Holy hell. Grayson was in a mood and I was on edge and it was a bad
scene trying to get him to do his homework sentences. We got to the outlet mall when they opened, ate lunch, let the kids look around
the Lego store, got Carter pants, and hung out a long time in the
bookstore (I pretty sure my kids could spend all day in a book store.)
Went home and did a craft project (that turned out nothing like the
picture thanks to crappy paint), I finished our cards with 1 to spare,
and took the kids to mail the cards and let them run around in the park.
Got ready for the week while the kids watched Home Alone (which they
found HYSTERICAL.) I finally watched some of the news coverage and when I
found out it was a first grade classroom and they were profiling all of
the kids, I lost it. Went to bed and slept restlessly all night.
Drop
off sucked. All I could think of were those parents who went through
the same motions, "Have a good day. I love you and will see you this
afternoon." *kiss* and yet their kids never came home. " title="Broken Heart" />
Friday - in the afternoon C and I went to our prenatal intake at our hmo. I most likely/hopefully won't deliver there, but it was the first step to establishing care and necessary before our 8/9 week appointment that includes an u/s. We got a bunch of information, filled out forms and got nurse education -- which was all review for me, but some new stuff for C. Then after an errand, we came home and I napped before dinner.
Saturday - I had a postpartum client meeting and an interview. Then I went to Costco and came home and napped. I've been dealing with queasiness for the past five days or so, and it's mainly in the evenings. After my nap, we went grocery shopping - two stores - and another errand.
Sunday - We stayed home all day. I slept in, lounged around, did some work online and then watched a couple shows. Besides for sleeping in, I didn't get a nap and then I slept too late. Now I'm already looking forward to an afternoon nap.

Friday - I had my 3 hour glucose test in the AM (passed, thankfully), then tried to meet S for lunch since it was her Birthday. That was kind of a cluster as she ended up being busier at work than anticipated. So I just brought Subway to her office, we chowed and I left to drive the hour to the office. Friday evening we decided to go out for dinner to celebrate more properly, and ended up running into 3 close friends at the restaurant. They stayed with us while we ate and we had a really nice time.
Saturday - S went to work for a few hours while I lounged in the morning, and caught the second half of Pride and Prejudice on TV. Then we puttered at home for a while feigning chores but not really getting anything done. Eventually I ran out to go in search of an elusive gift for my Dad. Part of those errands included getting my wedding ring cleaned though, so it was worth it! In the evening I made dinner and we rented the movie Ted. Ugh. Really not my thing. S apologized.
Sunday - got up in time to watch CBS Sunday Morning and really wallowed in the news of Friday. Then we got ourselves together, dropped the dog at daycare, and went shopping for the Nephews. THAT was fun. We grabbed a few things for the house, did some chores at the rental property (which is vacant), treated ourselves to wings and football for lunch, then went home to get ready for the week and I worked for a few hours.
All weekend - the bronchitis is still in my lungs and starting Thursday night I was treated to a new head cold. My lord, how long is it going to take for this all to clear up? I'd really like to feel better before our 10-hour ride to IN at the end of the week!

Fri: Off work at noon. Picked up Ky and drove to IN. K and I let our girls play for a bit and then we went to dinner at a local deli chain and then to the zoo. The seals and walrus were very active (and vocal in the seals case!) and there was a mommy and baby dolphin! The tiger was up and about too. We got back to K's house late and let the girls have a quick snack before bed.
Sat: K had surgery about 3 weeks ago and is still recovering so we spent a lazy day in our pjs. We made a quick drive through run for lunch and Ky and I helped them decorate their tree. Ky napped while we watched Ice.Age 4. K's husband had a work thing that night so we made dinner for jsut the four of us and enjoyed late night ice cream after the girls went to bed.
Sun: J's party was at the mouse place Sunday morning. It was fun but kind of impersonal (K agrees completely so I do not feel bad saying this lol). Not something I would choose for Ky so I will mark that off my possibilities list. The family/friends that drove in from OH (Both K and her husband are from OH originally and only moved out to IN for his job) all came back to their house for gift opening. I got the car packed up and we hit the road. We had to stop for dinner somewhere in IN and ended up still making it home in 2h 40m (maps says the trip shoudl take 2h 15m). I unpacked and Ky talked to her mamaw about her trip and played with her goody bag toys. Both of us went to bed early...
Fri:- I don't remember! I think it might have involved some hanging out
Sat:- During the day V went to our condo to do some work that our tenant had requested, then later, our company holiday party, which was fun. I spent the day running errands, like posting my ornament for the ornament exchange, bought a really cute little gender neutral baby outfit and some tiny little mittens
Sun:- We went to do some shopping at Costco with V's mother, and then she came home and we hung out, watched A White Christmas, and ate dinner together. It was really a nice time. I am so fortunate to get on well with my mother in law.

Friday - Left work early to drive down for an appointment. Spent all freaking day with my mom, in close quarters, and didn't say anything (yay!) Exchanged a jacket I bought on Black Friday because it had a default and ended up paying an additional $34 dollars because apparently I had to pay the price of what the jacket cost that day (crabby saleslady, I think). Right after that I saw there was a Hallmark store and told my mom to get us an Orange Julius while I took a quick look in the store. *Back story: last week I was shopping and found a photo album that says "Great moms get promoted to grandma" but they only had one, so I was sad both grandmas wouldn't get one. Anyway, ran into the store and they had plenty, so I bought another one. =D Appointment went okay, staying on the same meds for now and I have a follow-up with the actual doctor in 3 months. Saw my sister's new work office and ate some Chipotle (something Duluth is seriously lacking!) and went home.
Saturday - Low key, watched my mom's puppy for the afternoon while DP was working.
Sunday - Also pretty low key, it was almost a repeat of Saturday except my mom made a awesome steak dinner. I live with a vegetarian, so don't normally cook meat besides hamburgers when I'm alone. Also, will likely be the last time I have steak for awhile since I have oral surgery on Friday.

How do I miss these things? Are you in the midwest? Minnesota? Wisconsin?
Yes, Minnesota. Though Superior, WI is across the bridge.
Well then HELLO up there!
