The flight wasn't so bad! We didn't bring the car seat, a stroller or bottles so I think that helped. I just wore her in the airport. I wasn't sure what to expect going through security. They had me stand off to the side and wiped some stuff on my hands to check for chemicals and I guess scanned me with a wand or something - I didn't actually pay attention. She slept well on the long flight and I wore her while eating dinner on the 3 hour layover. She didn't sleep on the second connection but nursed almost the whole time. She only cried when we had finally landed and were waiting on our luggage - but it had been a really long day so I can hardly blame her. Nursing in the airport and on the plane with the nipple shield was a bit of an acrobatic feat - I really need to wean her off of that frigging thing.
Also we gave her tylenol a half hour before the first flight in case her ears hurt. I have no idea if it helped or not. Thankfully we didn't have any long delays and she saved her big poopy diaper for the airport - it would have sucked trying to change it in the tiny germ-infested bathroom on the plane. Hopefully the return trip goes as smoothly. I'm supposed to fly to WI in April by myself but I really don't know if I could do it by myself. DH was an enormous help.
