12 week check-up

Thursday is my 12 week check up and I'm so excited that my nausea is almost gone and my headaches are getting less. I have heard at the 12 week ultrasound the Dr. can predict what the baby is (not with 100% accuracy) but still I'm so curious to know...is that true?

I still feel like crap some days are better then others but i have felt the crap the whole pregnancy

It depends on the baby and if he or she is cooperating

and if the tech or Dr. can see it. My sister found out at 12 weeks but they said it was like a 1 in 100 chance.

It's definitely not typical to find out the gender at 12 weeks. At a 12 weeks check up you will probably hear the HB with the Doppler instead of seeing the baby. (I'm not sure if you also have an u/s scheduled.) That being said, if you do have an u/s I suppose there is a chance that you might get a guess. I wouldn't bank on it until later though. Glad you are feeling better!
