My son has been so congested the past 2 weeks I have tried everything! saline spray, steam, vaporizers, chest rub, baths, the Dr. gave me the ok for Benadryl because he is to the point where I can not lay him flat to sleep without him stopping breathing because he is so stuffed up. Am I missing anything on what I can do to help him?

    Sounds like you are doing everything that can be done really.  My baby had congestion and a chronic cough from 4-6 months old!  We think it was allergies.  His congestion is finally gone but he still coughs some nights.  

    Do you prop up his mattress?  Our ped said it was fine to put some towels under one edge of the mattress to incline it.  Our LO sleeps that way to help prevent post nasal drip which causes coughing.
