I just made my first appointment (for next Friday) for my new OB! Back story -- my previous OB practice was always a bit...uncomfortable. I saw three of the four doctors there and only one of them had any bedside manner. List of offenses:
1) Failed to phone in Zofran refill for a week after in person visit. The doctor phoned in another prescription, but forgot the most important one! I had to call back THREE different times, and the pharmacy called TWICE to get it taken care of. During my next visit, the Dr laughed and said, oops! Meanwhile, I was puking and unable to eat anything b/c of horrible MS.
2) Asked Dr #2 if I should be concerned over 10 lb weight loss, to which he replied..."So, what? Do you want to be a fat cow?!" I'm snarky, but that was just rude!
3) Asked Dr #2 if I should be taking a calcium supplement since I don't do milk a lot, he replies..."I don't know? Do what you want."
4) Waited THREE hours during last routine visit to see Dr #3
5) During my three hour wait, I overheard the front office staff gossiping about another patient and bragging about how they looked at her records to see why she came in all the time. Uh...not cool!
6) During the process of switching to new office, old practice sends my medical records to who knows where! Yep, they lost them. Took THREE different tries to get this handled. Ugh.
Needless to say, I'm extremely excited to be moving to a new practice!
Re: Switching to new OB -- SO EXCITED!!
Holy crap! Your old office sounds terrible!!
Glad you are switching!
I made sure to report it to the lead doctor at the practice. I also left scathing reviews online everywhere I could find a place to submit a review. In fact, I left one on Google under my Google + profile and their office manager called to follow up w/ me. So, she got an earful, too. I'm not sure what else I could do. But, I'm more than willing to do it -- especially if it saves people from having the same experience I did.
Wow. Dr #2 sounds like a real peach. Glad you are switching, GL at your appointment!
