Age appropriate apps and fun travel toys

We are flying to WA on Friday and we have a Nexus that I will be bringing.  I wanted to put a couple apps on it that C might enjoy.  My MIL has a piano one on her iPad and you touch the screen and play music and she seems to like that.  C doesn't watch TV or cartoons or anything (really short attention span) but I thought a couple different apps might keep her occupied should she get too bored on the 2.5 hr flight.  Any suggestions for fun toys would be appreciated as well.  I have 2 new toys for her to take but thought I would see what else you guys do/use to entertain your littles.  Thanks!

Re: Age appropriate apps and fun travel toys

  • We have one that's a muppet thing that sings kind of like a Sing A Ma Jig. Fisher Price Laugh N Learn apps and a See N Say one. Talking Tom Cat. Double check that any apps you download still work with no network/Internet connection.
  • Loading the player...
  • As for other things a travel magna doodle, sensory books, tons of snacks, a blanket, a bottle for the change in pressure if you're not nursing. I also forgot to suggest an abacus app. Lo loves sliding the beads back and forth.
  • Where are you going in WA?

    I believe Port Townsend.

Gator likes the fisher price laugh and learn apps. We also have a crayola one where she can draw and color. Her other ones are basic like German language flash cards and sign language apps...both geared towards kids

LOVE Port Townsend!!  It's such a quaint town, and so beautiful.  You know that An Officer And a Gentlemen was filmed there, right?  There are some wineries around there, although on the west side of the Cascades there is mostly grapes made for sweet wines.  Have fun, can't wait to see pictures!
