Hey ladies. Miss you all. Been lurking and catching up on some of you.
We have been super busy lately. In the past few months, Samuel has gone through rejection, had two catheter procedures, one rejection treatment, recovered from heart rejection, and started taking steps. We just moved, so things have been even more crazy. I'm working 40 hour weeks, doing some overnight shifts, then come home and spend the day with S. Needless to say, I am tired. Hahah. But I just wanted to let some of my favorites know that we are still alive. I saw a post about some ladies connecting on facebook, and if anyone wants to connect with me, just shoot me a PM. Its hard for me to keep up with TB and everything else. Hope you all are doing well!
Re: Popping in!
Goodness! How is Samuel recovering from the rejection? Will he need to get a ne wheart in the near(er) further?
Good to hear from you!
Hey girl! He is doing great, you never would have known he was rejecting. He had no obvious symptoms. But they turned it around with treatment, and there are no signs of rejection. His body could reject several times, its just a matter of how serious it is. This past time was not as serious/bad as it could have been. Thank God. So we are hoping this heart lasts him much longer. The average heart transplant life is between 10 and 17 years, which is a pretty big range.

I wasn't aware that there were different "stages" of rejection -- glad to hear his wasn't a full rejection! That really interesting aobut the transplant life, glad he'll hopefully be quite a bit older to undergo his next one. Hope you guys have a peaceful, restful holiday!
Yeah they have a rating system, I guess you could say. The scale is 0 to 4, 4 being the worst. Samuel was a two. If he was a 0 or 1, they would not have intervened.
