The times it doesn't go wrong

I don't think these types of incidents are broadcasted enough. In one, an off duty police officer apprehends a man that went into a movie theater with a gun and shot a round off. The off duty officer was able to stop him before anyone was killed. In the other, police apprehend a high school student who appeared to be planning a school shooting. Both happened this past weekend.

I wish we could advertise these types of incidents more often. I think it would uplift the public more and make people feel less scared. It might even make the suspects think twice.

  • Things like this don't make he news because nothing terrible happened. That's what he media mainly feeds on, that's what sells and transfixes people. It may make the news sometimes but it will be rare and probably only if they don't have something "better" to put on.

Edited because I am still learning the mobile site.

  • Agreed. I think the media should be tarred and geathered for the gross inaccuracies they reported on friday, but they never seem to be held accountable. I think they are more to blame then guns in these massacres-how much attention did they give to the shooter? Way too much. They sensationalized something that should have been much more sober. Stories like these would be a better use of their time.
