Hanna Rosin/TED talk on girls with autism

This is by the same woman who wrote an NYT article on girls with autism and how they present differently than boys (not Hanna Rosin).

There are some pretty saddening stats and stories, but at the same time I'm glad somebody's talking about girls on the spectrum.

Re: Hanna Rosin/TED talk on girls with autism

  • Yeah, she cited a small study of 20-odd boys and girls on the spectrum. At 3-5, the moms of girls reported that their children were likely to reach out socially and have friends. But by 10, some of the boys had reciprocal friendships and none of the girls did. :(
