This year is the first year where I'm preparing the Christmas dinner. I would much rather being playing with my boys and their new toys but my card was drawn to make the Turkey, haha.
What is your Christmas menu consisting of? So far I have...
Shrimp ring appetizer
Turkey hopefully not burnt or raw
Stuffing- hopefully not filled with salmonella poisoning from the undercooked turkey.
Mashed potatoes, extra creamy
either butternut squash or candied sweet potatoes. Probably the squash
peas and corn
eggnog/rum jello ring- it sounds awful but its delicious
Dessert? I dunno- something yummy. Desserts are my specialty.
Re: Christmas Menu
I think we're having prime rib, made by FIL. I like his cooking, but so help me, if he overcooks it, I will freak out.

No. But it sounds amazing!
tell your grandma to email me the recipe
I can ask how she makes them. They are amazing. She makes meat and cheese. So good.
Christmas dinner is tradition with my Dhs family , which means he gets to decide what e wants for dinner since it is his birthday. : all I know is it will be some meat that will cook in the smoker for hours.
I wanna come to your house!!!!
Ugh, I have no idea!
I was actually hoping that I got away without having to cook for the holidays this year, but alas, DH dropped the bombshell this morning that he wants me to cook a turkey for Christmas Day dinner. We went to my brothers for Thanksgiving and for Christmas Eve dinner we are spending it with a very close friends family.
I was really hoping that Christmas Eve dinner could be our big dinner for the holiday and that we could just do finger foods/light foods for Christmas day.
I really, really do not want to cook a turkey just for DH, DD, and I. There is no way we would even eat half of it. Maybe if I come up with a killer finger food menu he'll change his mind.
