On CD 389 this cycle finally Ends...Huzzah!

I have AF!!!!!!!  Yes!!!  (insert a double leg kick and fist pump)

 I have posted on my issue a couple times but here is the Coles notes.  I went off BCP over a year ago and never had a period.  I finally found a great clinic and FS  this fall.  I finally have my first period in over a year!  Never thought i would be so happy to see the old witch.

 If your experiencing something similar here's the "how".  My Doctor had me take progesterone suppositories for 7 days. Five days later AF showed.  So now to get to the bottom of why i have no cycle.  I am scheduled for a Dye test.  To show if there is any blockage.  My FS said there was no sense medicating me( clomid ect) until we made sure there was no additional issue. So the search for " why "continues....

The lesson here.  Newbies if your going of BCP do not expect you will get a period in 30 days.  You probably wont.  Some woman are 60, 90 days or like me longer.  But if it has been 60 days, call your Doctor.  And if they wont do something, find someone who will.  I lost a whole year of TTC time that i cant get back.  Be proactive.

    Overall i feel great!  Thanks so much for asking Smile Actually the PMS symptoms are fairly minor.  The progesterone really didn't have many negative effects for me.

    Glad to hear it. I was on a progesterone only BCP and I experienced the same in that my PMS symptoms were mild (well compared to what I had before).

    Wow - glad for you that you finally got AF! Definitely puts me being on CD48 into perspective. FX that is well with your tests and your next cycle is MUCH shorter!

    FX all your tests come back negative and it was just an odd post-bcp cycle.

    I was just thinking she puts my CD 71 to shame....and I know I O'd and was still complaining. Lesson learned!

    ***SIGGY WARNING***

    DX: Unexplained
    6 Failed IUIs (Clomid and Gonal F).  
    IVF #1 began August 2013- BC, 4 days of Estrace, stimmed with Gonal F and Menopur, Ganirelix, 9R 5M 5F, Medrol and Doxycycline, 5 day transfer of 2 early blastocysts- good quality, Progesterone, Estrace, and baby aspirin, BETA on 9/20 BFN,   IVF #2 began September 2013, stimming with Gonal F (higher dose) and Menopur, Ganirelix, 18R 14M 9F with ICSI, 5 day transfer of 2 BBs one was starting to hatch, 2 frosties: 1  BB and 1 AC, BETA on 10/21, BFN BETA was a 5- chemical 
    Getting some more testing and trying to figure out what the issue is before FET in December, started acupuncture on 11/10, RLP and some other BW nothing major to report except slightly high Prolactin. Prolactin was slightly high when I started with my RE and I already had an MRI which was Neg.  Endo biopsy=negative.  WTF is wrong with us???
    12/18/13 FET of 1 BB and 1 AC.  Hoping for a miracle.  Beta 12/26 Low BETA-8 2nd BETA 5- chemical
    After 3 failed transfers IDK where to go from here.  Still no real answers as to why this isn't working.  Getting a second opinion in February and looking into immune testing.  
    2/14- NEW RE- Immune testing showed a partial dq alpha match with DH- On prednisone and did intralipids prior to transfer.  3/14 Lupron, gonal f, menopur, HGH.  ER 15 mature all 15 fertilized!  5dt of an early blast grade 1 and an expanded blast grade 2.  BETA on 4/21.  1 grade 2 embryo frozen
    BETA #1 59 BETA #2 148 BETA #3 283 BETA #4 2,783! US at 6w2d shows 1 bean measuring right on track! HR 121.  US at 8w3d measuring on track HR 177. Released form my RE.  EDD 12/28

    This was my first thought.  I'm pretty sure I would have never waited that long.  I would have waited a few months maybe.

    New here but same thing happened to me... Got off birth control several years ago and it took me almost a whole year to get a period! Then low and behold I had one and they've come regular for me every 3540 days which was my regular before bcp! I vowed to never take that pill again! This is my first cycle ttc so hopefully we won't run into any issues : Good luck to you and Congratulations!!

    I don't mind the question at all, i want others to learn from my experience and hopefully make more informed choices than i did.

    I contacted my Doctor as everyone should when AF did not arrive in the first couple months after stopping BCP. 

    She told me that i should allow my body to adjust naturally which can take up to a year or longer. And that if i had nothing happen by the one year mark i would be referred to a specialist.  I got a few more medical opinions but all seemed to have the same logic, your young, your healthy, wait. And i did.

    If i only knew then what i know now.  I would have been more pushy.  I should have made more calls. I should have made more demands.

    I am so sorry you had to deal with that. It really sucks that your doctor was so slack with your care. I hope everything works out for you now. GL!
