Night time help

If you did not use pull us for bed what did you use in case of pee in the bed. DD still pees at night in her pull up but I think its cause she wakes up and just pees and goes back to sleep since she nows she has a pullup on. If we go pull up less at night i'm not sure she'll get up to pee. So I need help what I need for her bed if she is sleeping in underwear and possiable peeing bed. thanks

Re: Night time help

  • Just wait it out till she wakes dry.  There is no need to stress her or you.  It is developmental and most of the time not something you can push.  DS1 wore an underjam (cheaper pull up) till right after 4.  He was dry for months, but he wanted the security.  One day has asked to wear underwear.  We have only had a few accidents since.

  • Have you tried talking to her? Is there a nightlight in the hallway and in the bathroom? Is she comfortable getting up to pee or calling for you to help her?

I think you need to figure out if she's physically able to get up or not. DD1 didn't start waking up at night to pee until she turned 6. She's just always been a very deep sleeper, so it wasn't that she was being lazy. She just didn't wake up. One morning she woke up dry, and the next, and the next. After a week of being dry at night, we moved her to undies, and she's been fine ever since.

  • I just put DD in underwear, and if she peed the bed, she peed the bed.  It didn't take long for her to learn that she didn't want to pee in her underwear after waking up wet.  Soon, she would either hold it, or get up to go to the bathroom.  She was only two.
