Parenting after a Loss

I remember now why I hate birth control

So I was on birth control pills for about 2wks and I've made the decision that it just isn't right for me.  The last 7 days or so I've been having a decent amount of break through bleeding, lower back aches, nausea, and mood swings.  I just feel really crappy on the pill so DH and I decided that it would be best for me to not go back on it.  We're only waiting about 6 months before TTC Baby #2.  Are any of you girls TTA by temping and charting?  I'm just trying to figure out how that would even be possible when DS's sleep schedule is still all over the map.  It is so weird and difficult getting used to trying NOT to get pregnant.

  • I will not be going back on BCP.  Due to my clotting disorders, I've been told I can't use hormonal birth control.  I will definitely be charting.

  • I charted to avoid for about 6 months until I got my IUD. We also used condoms as back up. We knew there was still a risk of a pregnancy, but I wasn't sure about our TTC status until I got the IUD. It is totally possible, & if it's done right works.

Minera is allowed with clotting disorders, if you're not planning on TTC for awhile.

  • We are using condoms now but a few months before DD we did charting to avoid. Worked well for me! Just be committed and probably works better for peeps with cycles that are super regular.

  • Are you breastfeeding?  I mentioned charting to avoid to my doctor and she told me that unless you have established cycles again, charting to avoid is not very reliable because if rise in temp happens at different times each month it is hard to figure out when you should use other protection  The breastfeeding part comes in because it can take a long time to regulate periods again.
