Reading about swim diapers down below made me wonder about swimming lessons. If your LO is swimming...
1. How old is LO? I'm using mobile, can't see sigs
2. When did you start?
3. Are you doing organized lessons or just teaching LO on your own?
4. What kinds of things are you doing in the pool?
We definitely are going to teach my son to swim, but haven't decided how. We have a pool in the backyard and can heat it or the spa to a good temp for the baby. But maybe we'd prefer the structure of actual lessons.
Thanks!
Re: Swimming lessons?
We didn't do organized lessons until DS was about 2.5 and even then it was a basic mommy and me type where they focused on being comfortable in the water (i.e blowing bubbles and floating). I think the main idea is to get LO's in the water as soon as you can so that they can become accustomed to it and not afraid. Have you seen the YouTube video where they baby has been taught to flip over in the water and float?
I would be looking into this if we had a pool in the backyard.
I love this bonding time with her and that she is being taught early on to both respect and enjoy the water. I don't care if she ever competes but I want her to feel comfortable in the waterand above all be safe.
I wouldn't teach dd to swim. There is a lot of skill and knowledge that goes in to doing it properly. Even my friend who was a competitive swimmer and instructor takes her girls for lessons. Fortunately lessons are a viable option for us
