Oh, FFS In-laws, Part 2

Okay, so you know how I whine about my BIL and SIL on DH's side? Well, here is a little update:

BIL still hadn't reached out to tell anyone he was even coming for Christmas until his mother finally called and asked him yesterday. Not only is he coming, but he is bringing his girlfriend. Dude, it is 10 days until Christmas. Don't you think you should let people know what your deal is, especially when it is you, your daughter, and a new third person no one has met? On the flip side, his GF is allergic to cats. We have 3! My ILs have 2! So, MIL is seeing if another relative without cats can host them or they have to get a hotel. Why she has to make his arrangements, I have no idea. Drives me nuts.

And to add to the fun: SIL and her mess of a family (two kids, husband who is super sketchy and a decade+ younger who she met on the internet, moved here, and married and HE took HER name) decide that they can't be here Christmas morning with the rest of the IL family and want to come the next day. That just ruins my "get all the ILs in on one shot" plan for Christmas. Wanna know why they're not coming? You do, right? Well, MIL hired SIL's hubby to work in her department (hardware store). She had to FIRE him because Mr. Sketchy was doing some major stuff that could have gotten her fired. She couldn't cover for him any longer. So, now SIL is mad at MIL for firing her hubby (not mad at her hubby for getting fired, mind you!) and doesn't want to see them at Christmas. Ugh.

I know Lancy is in the lead in the "Oh, FFS In-laws" ratings, but I'm starting to gain on her, I swear I am. Okay, I know there are a bunch of people with crazy in-laws and Karleegirl definitely pulled closer to the lead with her high score for her Thanksgiving episode. I just feel like I am at least on the scoreboard with these crazy ILs of mine. How did these men we love come from such freaking wonky, frustrating people????

I think you're definitely in the top three. Thankfully, I can't move up in the standings because my inlaws pretty much refuse to acknowledge we exist unless there's a big family function going on. I might be securing my top spot after the holidays though... You know there's gotta be some sort of something go on with inlaws like mine.

Anyway, praise The Lord for cats, right?!?

Good luck with Christmas... I think all of our stories will be highly entertaining!

I think the holidays bring a little extra crazy out in people as well. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.
