Today has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I've been bizarrely emotional, way more than normal, and have been having what I think may be BH. I never had any with DS. Is 18w4d too early for BH? Maybe I'm mistaking the baby pushing on me for BH?
Apparently STM's get BH earlier. Like I didn't get a single one with DD, but got a few from 16-35 weeks. Apparently it's normal as long as your not getting more than like 5 an hour.
I agree with the pp. It's normal and only a concern if you're having 4+ (I was told 4 by one doctor and 6 by another) an hour. Drinking more water should also help.
I agree, I think it can be normal but it still freaks me out when I get them. I don't want to feel anything contraction-like going on in there until 40 weeks. Lol.

All of this. I started getting them at 16 weeks with this pregnancy.

Sounds normal to me. My doctor even told me that if your miscarriage involved contractions, your uterus doesn't know the difference so it will have Braxton hicks like a second time mom anyway.

This is the first pregnancy that's made it past 11 weeks and I started getting BH sometimes around 18-20 weeks. Maybe one or two a day for a while. Now I get them more often if I'm dehydrated or doing too much activity. I too have heard STMs have them earlier.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
I agree with PP's, but will also chime in as a FTM I had BHs at 16-18wks.. MFM confirmed and said they were most likely from my strange ute ;-) Glad they've stopped! Upping water always seemed to help.. as did moving around.. I'd get them ALL THE TIME in the car while driving (I have a very long commute for work).. sometimes, I'd even have to pull over and get out and walk around to get them to stop! Fun stuff
