DS3 currently sleeps in our room but we plan on transitioning him to his crib in the next few months. With the older two, we started doing naps in their crib at 4 months and night time in there at 6 months.
I need to order a mattress for his crib since DS2 is still using the other one in his crib. So.. Springs yay or nay?
I think foam mattresses are recommended these days because they're firmer and, as an added bonus, lighter weight so when you need to change the sheet it makes it so much easier! We have foam at home for C but my parents & in-laws both have springs and she's not phased by either one.
We have a foam mattress from Colgate and really like it. There Greenguard-certified so while we couldn't spring for an organic one, this makes me feel pretty good.
Incidentally, DH and I bought a foam mattress ($400 from Costco no less!) about three years ago and I'll never, ever go back to a spring mattress. Best purchase ever.

I was going to add to the pro-foam chorus, but you've already joined us .
Hope he likes his new mattress.
