is it useful? what do you use it for beside pureeing soups?
I'm just curious...I made a soup recently that needed to be blended & I always hate doing that in the blender but not sure it would be worth getting for periodic soups.
Yup - I love it. I use the blade attachment on it for blending soups, beans, tomatoes, etc. or beverages with banana in it. And, really, now that I have one, I make things that would call for one more often because I know I won't have to hassle with a blender.
I also use the whisk attachment when I need to beat just a few egg whites to peaks and don't want to clean the stand mixer.
I do and love it. I use it for homemade pasta sauces, we make berry syrup from frozne berries and puree that, soups, black beans etc. So much easier to use/clean than a regular blender.
I have one and I love it! I never use my regular blender anymore. I'll use it for pureeing soups, mashed potatoes, smoothies, making homemade salad dressing, etc. I keep finding more and more uses. It's great because there is only one part to clean, as opposed to several with the blender or food processor.

Have had mine for 12 years and still love it. I only use for 'periodic soups,' but it only cost $15 or $20 and is still going strong so totally worth it IMO.
