First agency phone call felt like taking a pregnancy test!

Hi all! Newbie here! My hubby and I are just begining the adoption process and although we're very excited, this girl needs some 'friends' with experiance! I just made the first phone call to the agency that we're likely going to work with and all I could think while I was calling and listening to the phone ring was the similarities between the call and a pregnancy test! The excitement and courage it takes to call, the hope while the phone is ringing, and the relief when the SW seemed amazing over the phone and was reassuring me that at the end of this we will have a baby. Just had to share with someone, because my hubby would look at me like I was crazy if I explained this to him!

I think that is a great analogy! I know when we were waiting for "the call" for our first foster care placement, I felt like I was waiting for my water to break!
