Anyone else's LO's developing some attitude? DD has started shaking her head to say "no", screaming if we try to feed her (she wants to do it herself), and swatting our hands away if we try to give her something she doesn't want, or something she wants to feed herself. Oh boy, it begins and she's a smart cookie! She shall outsmart DH and I both by age 1. LOL
Re: Attitude anyone? :)
Absolutely. Ben has started an absolutely lovely habit of screeching and crying if you don't let him do what he wants to do. Unfortunately for him, he is two very stubborn parents who don't cave to tantrums. He tantrum gets ignored and he gets redirected to something else. Sometimes, when he really melts down, I find myself saying things like "I understand you aren't happy about things and you have every right to be unhappy. That does not mean you will be getting your way."
The good thing is that he seems to recover quickly and is happy again.
DH and I are really working hard not to cave in or reinforce the behavior in the super-duper hope that it will help during the toddler tantrum stage. If he learns that we won't react to his tantrums now, maybe he won't turn into that kid who flops on the floor and wails and kicks and screams. A mom can hope, right?

We've been trying to not cave in as well because we figure if we cave now it will only get worse. At this point, there are some things that she knows she shouldn't be doing, and she understands the word "no" pretty well. lol We do a lot of redirection, but the times where we tell her "no" and she throws a fit, we try to just ignore her tantrum until she's done, and it doesn't usually last long either once she realizes we're not giving in.
