Ultra sound opinions needed! UPDATE!!

I have an ultra sound scheduled for next Friday, I will be 6 weeks 2 days according to when I likely conceived based on OPKs or 5 weeks 6 days based on LMP. This will probably be our only ultra sound until our NT scan. I'd like to go before Xmas because if we see a heartbeat we plan on telling some family over the holiday who otherwise we won't be able to tell in person. I'm also hesitant to go Friday because I'm afraid it will be too soon to see the heartbeat and wonder if maybe it would be better to wait until the next week when I'm a bit further along. Any thoughts on what I should do? Willl I be far enough along Friday to see a heartbeat even going by my LMP? I likely O'd on CD 12 so my EDD based on conception puts me a little further along and my EDD based on LMP puts me a back a few days, that is if both ways of figuring EDD assume O on CD 14. Am I even figuring this out right?!? Help! Lol!
***UPDATE***
I called this morning and the u/s office is open on on Christmas Eve and had an opening which gives my little one 3 extra days to grow like crazy!! Hopefully we will see a little HB...it will be between 6 weeks 3 days and 6 weeks 5 days! Thanks again for the support!

I know it sucks to hear this but it is a very personal choice. You can start seeing the h/b on an u/s right around 6 weeks. So it is likely that you will be able to see it but possible that you won't.
I had an u/s at 6w2d due to a bleeding scare and the tech just barely was able to detect the h/b. It took a lot of effort on her part and she said a day or two earlier there is no way she would have been able to pick it up.

Praying to see a HB! FX for the both of us this week. Such a scary time!
Such a tough decision. If it were me, I wouldn't be able to hold out and would go in on Friday. I had an u/s at 6w1d and the tech saw a "flicker* of a heartbeat, but was unable to measure it. A week later it was 132 bpm.
I guess if you decide to go on Friday and don't see something (a heartbeat), just know that that doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong, it may just be too early.

If you're unsure of your dates, it's possible that you are further ahead, or behind where you think you are. I would go Friday, personally, just to try (but I'm super impatient). We saw a heartbeat no problem on 6wk6d, but 6w2d might be a bit early.
Either way, fx for you to see a heartbeat next Friday! If you don't see one, don't despair, just book another u/s for the next week!

Tough call. Ultimately it is your decision. Personally, I wouldn't have chanced it that early as it's quite possible they wouldn't find a hb but everything is fine. In the meantime you'd be waiting until your NT scan to find out what is going on. Those would be 6 very long weeks. I do, however, understand the desire to go sooner.

We saw a very strong HB at 6w 3d, everyone is different and every pregnancy is different so it is completely up to you. My family has been with me every step of the way and knew before I even had my first u/s, so I say if they are people you want to know tell them. If you need to see LO first it is likely you won't see a HB yet.

I think the biggest question to ask yourself is if you will be able to stand it if you don't see a heartbeat even knowing that everything's probably fine and it might just be too early? For me personally, I couldn't stand it. I would wait. But I'm also one of those weird ones that wants to wait until 8 weeks to have an ultrasound just so I know for sure that I'm far enough along and that if there's no heartbeat I'll know it's not because of dates. I am horrible at what if's lol.
But I also totally understand the desire to go and confirm the HB and tell your family on Christmas. GL to you, I'm sure either way will turn out great!

You are figuring it right but you can also add a week to your calculations for insemination and implantation, this can take a total of 7 days...
I can't tell you what to do, but I would wait another week to be sure.

This is a tough decision and one you have to make based on what is best for you.
Personally, I chose to have our first ultrasound as late as they would schedule it for me - which was 8w3d (my OB wants to see people between 6-8 weeks for the first ultrasound). With our first pregnancy we went very early and saw a flicker of a heartbeat at 6w4d but then lost the baby a few weeks later. This pregnancy, I wanted to wait later and have a little more reassurance that way.
The weird thing is, for me waiting for the first ultrasound actually flew by even though I had to wait 5 weeks for it. The wait in between my first ultrasound and my NT scan seemed to drag on a lot and it was only 3 weeks.
