Babies: 6 - 9 Months

horrible sleep?

Anyone else dealing with a horrible sleeper? My LO STTN from 2-7ish months.  Now that he has teeth coming in, he is up all night.  If he isn't nursing, he is crying.  We have started to co-sleep just so I can get some rest.  Is there anything besides  nursing that could help? If you FF what do you do to soothe a teething LO? I guess since he knows breast is an option... it is what he wants.  He isn't really eating... just sucking.  Thanks for any advice... I need some sleep!

Re: horrible sleep?

  • Have you tried giving your LO ibprofen or tylenol if you feel that he is teething/in pain?  I can tell when my son is in pain from teething and not sleeping as a result and will give him something for it and helps him sleep (most of the time).  I too have to co-sleep and let him comfort nurse some nights with or without tylenol/ib...I think there are some nights it just is what is it..no sleep for us and not much else than the breast will comfort him.

  • We just give tylenol before bed and a paci if she wakes during the night. Other than that, I leave her in the crib.

If she is really "crying" I will rock her and perhaps give her some food.

I would try tylenol first -- My doctor said no Advil till one year because it can cause a liver toxin.

If your baby is still wanting mommy they could be playing you at night because they miss you.

    Teething sucks.

  • tylenol, and sometimes we rub vanilla extract on her gums.  It numbs them and eases the pain.
