So a good friend has been trying to get pregnant for 7 months now. She has been calling and talking/ crying to me about it all these months. It has been truly heartbreaking to go through with her.
Well......
The other day she called and said this "I was supposed to get my period yesterday (Wednesday) and it didn't come so I took a test. It was negative. Again today my period didn't come so I took another test and there was a really faint line." My initial reaction was a line is a line!
Yesterday she took another test first thing in the morning (this would be 3 days post missed period) and it was still a really faint line. I immediately started saying "you're pregnant you're pregnant!!!!!!!!"
So here is where my question comes in because now I am nervous that I jumped the gun. I got my "faint line" 5 days before my missed period. Is this normal to still have a faint line 3 days after your missed period? She is going to get a digital tomorrow because she can't today, I can't wait for her to just see the word PREGNANT.
Re: *Updated* Friends BFP- am I jumping the gun?
If she ovulated later in her cycle, then yes. I didn't get my BFP until 3 days after my missed period. It was faint on the 3rd day and much darker the next day. Is she testing with FMU? That should give her a darker BFP. Has she tried a digital?
If I were you I would maybe hold off on getting too excited until it is a nice dark BFP or she turns a digital. I had a chemical pregnancy earlier this month. I had a faint line the day after my missed period (Sunday) and the same test result Monday. But I had cramping and bleeding the next morning. I hope this is your friends sticky baby!
BFP #1 1/11/11 M/C 2/4/11
BFP #2 6/13/11 Baby E born 2/18/12
BFP #3 12/3/12 C/P 12/5/12
BFP #4 2/10/13 Baby R born 10/19/13
BFP 3.8.16 EDD 11.20.16
A line is a line...she is pregnant. I had the positive line faintly but not the control line...I was sooo confused until I got a digital.
YAY for her
oh no! That sucks. Tell her it's a gift for your dh that you didn't want him to see. Does eh live close enough you can drive over the day it's delivered and get it?
Yikes, tough situation. I don't think the post office will be able to do anything except deliver it to her. Maybe just be upfront with her and tell her how excited you were for her that you ordered it. Explain how terrible you feel now and that you realize you should have waited. Tell her that it is coming and she can send it right back to you or throw it away or keep it until the time is right, whether that is next month or a year from now.
