I comb my hair in the shower with conditioner in my hair and then leave a little in. Then I use the cheapest hair gel and squish it in and then some mousse and let it air dry. If its humid, I will spray hair spray on it when it is a little damp.
Aww man I was seriously just about to post this same thing specifically to you because I figured you would know!!
B's hair is curly/wavy and it is getting long enough that it just looks weird in the back. We bathe at night so I don't feel like doing any kind of product in her hair would keep til morning.
Currently we do a pony with the curls hanging out the back that aren't long enough to reach the ponytail.

Have you tried a little conditioner in her hair? Both of my kids have straight hair, but when I put in conditioner in theirs it makes a huge difference!
For me, I only wash a few times a week to avoid drying it out. If I'm throwing it in a pony tail, I use cheap gel and scrunch it. If I'm leaving it down, I flip my head upside down and scrunch the underside with mousse, then flip it over and scrunch/style with more mousse. I usually finish with a little hairspray, too. For special occasions when I want it to look good for a while, like a wedding or party, I love TGI Catwalk Curls Rock.
For DD1, oy. Her hair is thin, fine, and super tight curls - think Shirley Temple. It's adorable and she gets comments everywhere we go, but it gets super crazy as the day goes on. So far I've been using a leave in conditioner after baths a few nights a week, and to style in the mornings just a detangling spray so I can get a comb through it. Some days I just pull the top up into two little pigtails and others we stick a little headband on and call it a day (the harder plastic type, not the stretchy baby ones ).

I wash my hair every other day. On days I wash it I will towel dry it a bit, and put a dab of gel in it. I usually don't use a blow dryer. I have to use a lot more gel in the summer when it's humid.
On days I don't wash my hair I will use a little water to dampen it to reactivate the gel.
I also think it's important to get your hair trimmedfrequently with layers to keep your curls looking nice.

I have fine naturally curly hair. I used to love it but it changed textures after having a baby so now I despise it. However, when I do wear it curly I use Hair Rules Curly Whip styling product in the shower, Garnier Spray gel or a curling cream, and then diffuse it dry. I then use Frizz Ease Secret Weapon and shine spray to finish it off.
This styling video is wonderful. I get great definition and volume if I style my hair like this:

I just found this stuff and I love it!! I just made my mom try it the other day and she's hooked on it too, lol.

Wow! Her hair is amazing! I just don't want to take the time to do all that...not to mention that I don't have that much hair since I chopped it all off.

I have to use John freida conditioning spray after every wash or it gets dry. Then for curly hair days I use John freida dream curls spray and fruictis spray gel. I dry it with a finger tip diffuser on low and sometimes use a touchable hairspray, must be aerosol.
I'm in desperate need of a cut though, the curls always look best after
