My son is 30 months. Two years and 6 months. i am trying to potty train him cold turkey with underwears only. help! is he late in the potty training stage? to many dirty underwear. i need help. what should I do. I think he is ready and open for potty training but i am not certain what is the best method.

Re: Potty training
The average age for potty training in boys is 3y3m. If he's not getting it with the cold turkey method, stop and try again later. I tried it with my son and he ended up scared to use the potty for a year, despite having all of the "readiness signs".
Then, one day after he turned 3, he just decided he was ready and he did it. He had three accidents that week and none since.
my son is around the same age as yours and has shown some interest. but, anytime we've just tried first thing in the morning or right before bath time (recommended by our daycare director), he just goes thru the motions w/o anything actually happening. so, i'm waiting for more of a clear indication of readiness. i understood that boys often don't potty train until 3 and have many friends whose boys didn't really finish potty training until 4.
