Early period, implantation bleeding or something else?

My DH and i just started TTC in November and since than i noticed that last month my period came a day earlier than i normally have it and i started spotting earlier too. I didn't think anything of it.

Now this month again I am supposed to get AF on 12/18 and I started spotting on 12/13 a reddish brown and today (12/15) its a bit heavier and red but i only see it when i wipe. I have no other symptoms except for my breasts being tender which happens before my AF. From what i calculated i had OV on 12/4 (I just started charting)

I never got early periods and this only really started when the DH and i started to TTC. Is it weird coincidence or is anyone experiencing the same thing? Should i be concerned?

Sorry, I mean't i started charting my temperature. I haven't been on BC since the summer so i don't think its that.

It can take several months to adjust when coming off BCP. Sounds like you are having some spotting before your period starts. Implantation bleeding is pretty rare.

ETA: after looking at your chart, I think you O'd on the 5th, which would make you 10 DPO today (I think)...wait it out a couple days, then test if you want.

I came off the pill in the summer too, but my cycles have still been wonky with irregularities and spotting at weird times. My periods have become shorter than they were on the pill by a full week (now 21 days instead of 28) and my last two cycles I spotted every day for 9+ days before my period started. This current cycle I haven't spotted nearly as much (only a couple times) so I think my cycles are finally settling down.

Plus, TTC can just be a bit of a mind bender, you notice what your body is doing to a much greater degree than you ever did before, so everything just seems to have heightened significance in your mind. And you'd be surprised at they sheer number of women who come onto this board for the first time with "my periods have always been regular, but..." stories, just not knowing how common it is to have an off cycle at any given time.

At any rate, test or not, it's your choice, but it's the only way to confirm if your symptoms are pregnancy related or not.

This. Take a look at my charts... I'm on month 4 off the pill and I still spot like that... It's never been implantation bleeding for me.

You'll only know if it was implantation bleeding after the fact.

How long were you on BCP? When you're on it your periods are very regular because they're regulated by BCP hormones, not yours. If you've been on them a long time it is hard to know what is "regular" for you.

Like PPs said, the only way to know if it is implantation bleeding is to wait a few days and test. Either way spotting is not something to be overly concerned about.

This month, I started spotting for 8 days before AF. It just happens sometimes, our bodies are weird, especially when ttc. Also, as pp said it takes awhile for you to regulate after bc.

The reason you never got early periods before was because you were on the pill. The pill is telling your body what to do and when to do it.

Now that you're off the pill, anything goes. It looks like your cycles are probably just getting shorter - you are probably ovulating earlier then day 14 - that is all.

Thanks for all the advice. Its seems that it was AF coming early afterall :-(

Back to the drawing board :-)
