Hi Ladies,
I ordered my doppler rental on Monday because my last pregnancy, it took 3 weeks to arrive. Well it arrived today, in only 3 days.
I'm only 8 weeks so know its waaaaay early to heard the heartbeat but the pamphlet it came with says it can be picked up with this particular unit as early as 8 weeks. I tried this afternoon and if course could only gear my heartbeat, as well as the distinctive whooshing and wind sound of the placenta. The thing I'm wondering though, is every time I was near the whooshing sound, the digital display would say anything from 145155 for about 10 seconds. I jnow my geartbeat was about half that. I couldn't HEAR anything but I'm wondering if this display could be registering the baby's heartbeat, but I just can't hear it through the other noise yet? Or is that not possible?
I'm not worried at all as I couldn't hear either heartbeat with my 2 boys before 11 weeks but just curios. WDYT? Thanks for any insight!
Re: Doppler users...?
I don't know what type of doppler you have, but mine's screen reading is very inaccurate. It will often list a very high reading when it's definitely just my heartbeat (and baby is all the way on the other side of my ute, so it can't be picking her hb up). Also, it often doesn't register baby's hb (or my hb) on the display even when I can clearly hear it. So I would guess that the reading was just an error.
Good luck!
