Hi everyone, I'm panther.
I replied to a thread below and thought I'd introduce myself too. I've lurked around here while TTC and now I'm happy I can contribute.
EDD is August 10 both by LMP and my chart, pretty lucky there. I am a RN in an ICU at a large university hospital on the East Coast. My H is an accountant with the same hospital system. This is (hopefully!) our first babe. We got married in May 2012 and have a dog, who is almost 4.
I'm hoping to try for a med free birth in the hospital. I have an appointment with a group of midwives in January. I'm thinking I'll give Hypnobabies a shot, as my H's cousin gave birth using Hypnobabies and has nothing but great things to say about it.
TTC #1 since 10/2012.

Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
Congrats! I replied to the same thread; I'm an L&D RN.
Hope you have a wonderful, natural birth just the way you want it. I have a coworker and dear friend who also teaches Hynobabies (and is a doula...she does all facets of the birth process. ha!) and many of her clients have wonderful births. I've never done it, but did photograph her own fourth birth over the summer, and she rocked it. Good luck -- hope it's a great fit!
Since I'll never see her again, I want to thank you for the wonderful experience I had with my L&D nurse. My angel nurse. I didn't get to thank her because I was exhausted. L&D nurses are awesome. The after care nurses not so much.
Hello and congratulations!
I'm also new here...(and should probably introduce myself, too).
I am also hoping for a med free birth in a hospital... Sending out positive thoughts that we both get our wish!

Welcome and congratulations!
Thank you for all you do! My mom was a nurse and I know how hard that job can be! My L & D nurse was an angel and my one regret about DD's birth is that I never took the time to really tell her how much she helped me and how wonderful she was. I thanked her, but was too tired to tell her how much her support meant to me and I wish I had thought to send her a card afterword, but it didn't occur to me until much, much later. She actually stayed with me until DD was born even though her shift had ended and her replacement had come.
Anyway, awesome that you are planning to do Hypnobabies! I did Hypnobirthing which is similar and had a wonderful experience, which I hope to repeat very soon.
