I've both read and heard that babies sleep longer stretches once they hit 11 lbs. I think I heard its something with their metabolism? In your experience, is there any truth to this or is it just another old wives take?

Re: 11lbs.
My LO has always been an extreme sleeper (not really a good thing in our case) but the Dr didn't want me letting her go more than 6 hrs between feeds until she was 11 pounds - so there must be something behind that!
Luckily, she hit that right before I went back to work at 12 weeks. I am fine getting up when she wakes up but I hated getting up to my alarm!
I've heard this too! My friend who has a three month old told me this snd said she read it in What to Expect the First Year...
Hope it's true! Was true for her!
Wow, is your baby under 6 weeks and over 12 pounds? My kid is 10 weeks and only about 11 pounds! He's a little guy though.
This.
Lesh, my son weighed at his 2 month aapt what yours did at his 1 month!
[MC 11.20.11] [DS born 9.24.12] [DD born 10.15.14]
This.
My son was 11 Ibs at his 1 month check up too, which shocked me because he isnt a big baby, I guess hes just heavy lol. But sadly he will only sleep 1-2 hours at a time
youre so lucky lol
My baby is two months today and is round 11lbs I believe (was 10.6lbs before 8 weeks and that was over a week ago)
What I find frustrating is all of a sudden she's sleeping in much smaller stretches during the day now. Went from like one and a half hour to like 20-25 minutes. With maybe 6 hours straight during the night.
This is so not true for me my LO was 11lbs 10 oz at 6 weeks and is still up to feed every 3 hours at least. Gah I'm tired! His 2 month appt is next week
