My just about 6 month old take 3 naps a day. one at 9 1 and 4. Every nap he wakes up after 45 minutes. I know he is still tired because he wakes crying and when he is well rested he doesn't. So I either let him cry and he falls back asleep or i go up and help him. Problem is when he naps at 1 he should sleep till 2 or 2:30 but when he keeps waking up he sleeps till 3. Well then he needs a nap at 5. He won't make it 4 hours till bedtime. and then he sleeps horribly if hes over tired. Would you just let him get up after 45 mintues or let him fall back asleep. He is asleep now and its 2:30. Also when was your baby able to be awake longer then 2 1/2 hours.
DD took 3 naps till 8 months
Re: how long are your 6 month olds naps
Since about 3 months old our schedule has been:
up for the day around 7, eat, play
nap from 9-1130, eat, play
nap 230/3 - 430/5, eat play
another feeding around 7, bath, lotion massage then bed between 8/830.
DD was a 30-40 minute napper until recently (right around 7 months), when she finally started lengthening some of them. The last few days she has done either -1 hour, 1 hour, plus a third nap of 30 minutes, or 1.5 hours + 1 or 1.5 hours. It's awesome.
I wait anywhere from 90 minutes to 2.5 hours in between naps, depending on how tired she seems and how long her last nap was. Ideally, she'll wake up from her last nap around 4:30-5, so I can put her to bed at 7 or 7:30. Sometimes if she hasn't napped enough, I'll put her to bed at 6:30, but never earlier than that.
6:00 up for the day
He hates eating right when he wakes up, he usually waits about an hour before he does
7:00 breakfast/get dressed/play
9:30 nap usually this is his long nap for the day and will sleep til about 12:30
When he wakes up he'll have a bottle then we play more then daddy gets home and they play for awhile and then he'll take another bottle around 4:00 and then take a short 3045 minute nap
We have dinner at 6:30 then he gets a bath/lotion/bottle/book and bed
