I'm off caffeine completely...ok I have one cup o'coffee (8oz) in the morning. However I'm not a big water drinker and I'm trying to avoid sugary drinks like fruit juice etc. Anyone heard anything bad about sprite zero? It also seems to really help with the nausea.
Re: Sprite Zero?
Me too. OP have you tried lime flavored sparkling water? I really like that. And its flavored naturally.
**Throws sprite away*** Guess I'm trying the crystal light with water. Thanks ladies!!
FYI it's the same deal with Crystal Light.

Regular Sprite (which doesn't contain caffine anyway) would be much better for you and baby than Sprite Zero. I usually don't drink a lot of carbonated drinks anyway but it seems that I've been craving them since finding out that I am pregnant. Anywho, Ginger Ale has become my new bff! No caffine and is a lot less sweet than Sprite.
Sprite Zero is fine to drink during pregnancy. Also, if you're not going to drink that because of the sweeteners, you can't drink Crystal Light either.
I also do sparkling water - I think mine was lemon flavored. I'm out at the moment, so I can't check.
I avoid artificial sweeteners in general.
this
I have to disagree. I would much rather have a Sprite Zero than a regular Sprite. Artificial sweeteners have literally been shown to cause no, zero, zilch, nada side effects and are regarded as safe for consumption in pregnant and non-pregnant women.
Excess sugar consumption, on the other hand, has been linked to ill effects in pregnancy.
As for me, I would pick the diet sprite/sprite zero every time (up to about 2 per day).
On these kinds of issues it is good to do real research vs. listening to people who say things like "splenda is poison," without referencing any peer-reviewed study or journal article. There have been around 100 studies showing Splenda is safe for human consumption in amounts way exceeding "moderate" levels. On the other hand, there have been no scientific studies showing that it is dangerous....
At least with juice you get some vitamins.
I avoid aspartame whenever possible... so i always had non-Diet drinks. Try full on Sprite.
