Our future babies - BOYS only!!

I saw the girls only post down there a ways and I got jealous.  So...

When do you think you'll...

Buy boxers for your son (instead of tightie whities)? 13 years

Let him see an R rated movie? 12 years (depends on the movie of course!)

Let him get a job? 16-17 depending on how much outside of school they're involved in.

Let him take a girl (or boy?) on a date? 13 in groups, 16 alone

Have a cell phone? Probably 12 years old

  • When do you think you'll...

Buy boxers for your son (instead of tightie whities)? When he wants to try them

Let him see an R rated movie? Depends on the movie and my H and I would have to discuss first.

Let him get a job? I say 14 because that's when I got my first job but H says 16 or 17.

Let him take a girl (or boy?) on a date? 13 in groups, 16 alone

Have a cell phone? trying to avoid that as long as possible but probably 13 or 14.  A lot of it depends on what kind of kid he becomes.  If he's really into school activities and sports or incredibly social like me I would consider it but if he prefers to hang at home I don't see the point.

Let him see an R rated movie? My husband and I very anti living in a bubble and as I was the last of 8 children and all of my siblings were a lot older than me, i was exposed to a lot at a young age and I think I've turned out okay :) That being said it depends on the movie and what my ds is like.  Right now he's almost 2 and a half and he's so sensitive he cries during any dramatic part in any Disney movie.  For example; during Walle he just cries and says "Wall E find Eva!".  LOL so I think he'll probably be 25 before he can make it through a R rated flick.

Let him get a job? 14 but it really depends on what he has going on at school

Let him take a girl (or boy?) on a date? 13 in a group, depends on him and the girl for alone

Have a cell phone? Whenever he has a lot of after school stuff going on I think it is appropriate.

  • Buy boxers for your son (instead of tightie whities)? I'll probably always buy him briefs. Since his dad wears boxers (no confusion while doing laundry)

Let him see an R rated movie? 14

Let him get a job? When he is old enough to drive himself. I will only shuttle for sports and extracuriculas

Have a cell phone? Probably 8

Let him take a girl  on a date? 14-15

He wears boxer briefs now.  I doubt that he'll want to change.  He's kind of averse to change.

Let him see an R rated movie?

Depends on the movie, but probably not until 14 or 15.

    Let him get a job?

    15 at the earliest.

Let him take a girl (or boy?) on a date?

    In a group, around 13.  15 or 16 on a real date.

    Have a cell phone?

When we think it's actually needed.  We've talked about getting one of those that only dials a few numbers and 911 for when he's around 9 just so that he has something for emergencies when he's out playing.
