Are you just doing the one wall as an accent wall? If so...it may not be so dramatic once you get it all done...you're doing an amazing job if that makes you feel any better
thanks Just was going to one wall stripes, the rest solid cream. The colors are coming out just way too bright....I feel like a clown threw up in the room.
The stripes are well-done. But if you're feeling overwhelmed, maybe you could try painting only the top half of the wall and doing the bottom half in white, then place a chair rail at the intersection. It will tone down the effect, but you can still have your stripes and your colors. You can also try to tone down the stripes with furniture and accent pieces that are in a plain, neutral color.
Lurking from may mamas... this is awesome honey. I would do a chair rail on the bottom half and use really watery white to tone down the stripes. Just get a rag very wet with a water and white paint mix and spread it thin. Practice where you would paint the bottom half solid. Ive been doing wall murals and nurseries for 20 years and this is one of the most impressive amateur stripe attempts ive ever seen. Really amazing!

This was going to be my suggestion as well.
BUT, for what it's worth, you did an outstandnig job with those stripes. I'm seriously impressed.

WOW, well thank you. I thought about a brown glaze? My "style" is more earthy colors browns, beiges, and I have some sky blue and green around the house. I think these colors are just WAY outta my comfort zone and freaking me out. I wanted to do brown blue and green, but tried to throw in some other pastels to make it a little less boyish (for my baby girl).
Seriously, this looks good! I agree with PP's who said use the divider thing and paint over the bottom half cream or white or a solid. The colors look good together. Maybe give it a few days and see if it grows on you?

Awww don't be upset, it's very fixable if that is what you want to do. Personally I think it looks pretty cool, it stayed very "vintage kid's play room" looking just like the floral print. You could paint over half like someone has already suggested. You could also take some pieces of paper and cover up one color at a time to see if you would like one color painted over, I think that would make a big difference.

I like the idea of a chair rail with a solid color on half, if you are feeling overwhelmed. But I just wanted to say I think you did a really awesome job!!

A brown glaze is a great idea too! Definitely will give it more of an antiqued aged look. Good thinking. You could always try it before you scratch the whole thing. Good luck!

Wow! I could never get stripes to look that neat! You are doing a great job! Also, I agree with the PP suggesting a chair rail and painting a solid color on either top or bottom, if you would like to tone it down some. I think that would look really nice.

I agree w/all the PP's that you are doing a great job and maybe give it a few days to marinate. Also remember, wall art can also tone it down. It's all about balance. If you hung a few simple pics in white frames, that would bring it down a few notches too and help with the blending. Every room/art project goes through what I call an "adolescent" phase (the ugly, zit and braces filled phase- you get my pt) -- you just have to finesse it and work on the overall balance until you're happy. No worries, you'll get there!
Thank you everyone for the encouraging words. I totally scraped it though....it wasn't like a little dislike, it was hate. I was sure DH would come in and love it and he wasn't too excited about it either. I decided to just paint it all the green color you see. I might do one or two horizontal stripes in cream or something. Just decided to bring in the other colors in different accents - bedding, decor, etc.
