since three this morning I have had some serious back pain that has been coming in waves, but not really on a regular schedule. Went to my ultrasound appointment today to check measurements and such and I had gone from 1 cm to 3.5 in a week and 90% effaced! Walking and sex really paid off, or so it would seem ;D
OB doesn't expect us to make it to the due date and because of low fluid if he isn't here by the end of next week then I will be induced. I'm hoping to do it on my own though! Now I just get to hang out and see how things go. Wish me luck, ladies ![]()
Re: it has begun!
Good luck!
I've come to realize that effacement and dilation dont mean much until the contractions/labor actually begin..
I been 90% and 2 cm for 2 weeks now- and a big fat nothing yet! lol
I'm tired of hearing the ob say "any time now" stop getting our hopes up man!
Babies come when they are ready so dont let them push for induction, its easy for doctors to do this time of year they want to relax around the holidays
I had my first check last Friday at 37 weeks and I was 1 cm and today I'm 37+6 and I was 3.5. We walked for about two miles around our local walking track. Also, my midwife told me to sit cross legged or with my legs open to help baby get into position, which I think helped a lot since the OB couldn't believe how low he is! And I try to be pretty active around the house, doing a lot of house cleaning and making trips to the grocery store. I don't know which of these helped the most, but it couldn't hurt to try all three! haha. GL to you as well
Yeah, I'm hoping that I can make it to Tuesday, so I'll be able to talk to my midwife rather than the OB who did the ultrasound (my midwife was sick) about it. I would much rather he stay in as long as possible, but if it's safer for him on the outside I'd be willing to budge. He's also measuring small (5 lbs 14 oz) but I know those measurements by u/s can be WAY off. We will just have to see. The OB is a bit of a goober as well, so I'd feel a lot better talking to my midwife. haha.
haha I wish mine would! He's been quite friendly this whole pregnancy but this past week for some reason he has been afraid to do anything. We did do the deed once in the past week or so, so I'm hoping to get something else out of him before the little one decides to arrive ;D
GL to you!
