is it normal... possible tmi warning lol

This is my first pregnancy-

I have 10 days to go till my 'due date' although I keep that as a suggested date and not set in stone-

But I am getting pains in my nether regions and I'm pretty uncomfortable-

It feels 'period' like... I have cramps in my abdomen, and then my vag is hurting like during a period & I get odd pains that are hard to describe...

Still no show or water breakage- I'm so anxious! very tired of feeling this way lol

anyways are these things normal?

Re: is it normal... possible tmi warning lol

  • I'm a FTM due the day after you.  All of that sounds like what I've got going on too.  I'm not entirely sure what's causing all of the various things (I swear she's kicking my cervix with something, but I know she's head down, so can't figure out what she's hitting it with), but figure that if I'm not the only one, it's probably okay...

  • Oh good to hear (I guess? lol) I mean not that you are in pain too-

But that its happening to others too so it must be somewhat normal. He's head down and 'station 1' so reallllly low in my pelvis- I swear sometimes he is punching my cervix too!

The dr's have said for my last 3 appointments "oh this baby is coming soon" but then he is just chillin, taking his time...

My first week check I was %50 and 1cm, then I was %80 and 1 cm, now at my last appointment I was %90 and 2 cm... I'm thinking, these numbers mean nothing! lol and the doctors saying "he'll be here this week" just makes me anxious then sad that I haven't had anything else progress- I don't think the waiting game is fun!

  • I have been the same way, although I have slowly been losing my mucus plug over the past week.  I don't feel any contractions (at least that I know of) but I do have cramping and back pain.  This week I have started feeling nausea again, I was actually up in the middle of the night puking last night...anyone else experiencing this?

  • I'm pretty sure that they don't at all.  The first time they checked me was this past Tuesday, and I was 1.5, 75%.  All I got was "Well, that's a good start.  Just need to get to 10 to deliver!!"  I told her that it was not the most inspiring pep talk ever... lol.

I'm anxious for her to arrive (and to not be pregnant anymore), so any time would be just fine with me.

I started with nausea yesterday, my head hurts- I just dont feel well! I'm tired and have no motivation to do anything really :( the nausea hasn't led to puking but I've been staying either on the couch or in bed

good luck to you! hope everything goes well

  • yes, having similar pains too. I think that is what they mean when they say "lightning crotch". It is probably just the baby hitting nerves down there.

  • Those are typical end of pregnancy pains, nothing to worry about. It's all the pressure from your LO down in your pelvis. I'm 3cm and the doctor can feel his head, and sitting down is borderline painful, it's so uncomfortable. My cervix hurts, my vag hurts, my butt even hurts at times. All very normal!

Oh, I forgot that part.  I've been sitting in my desk chair for entirely too long today.

Is this all normal before the baby drops too? Mine hasn't yet and I'm getting so much pressure down there and it's hurts!! I'm realizing today that I'm afraid for her to drop because I don't know how this pressure could get much worse without her pushin herself right on out!

Yes still normal.  My babies seem to love staying up high right until I'm in the delivery room, but I definitely still feel the pressure and pain--they're still 8 lbs laying there on the bottom of your cervix, wherever that cervix is positioned.   :)
