This one actually made me laugh...
A client today did the Fat Albert "hey hey hey" impression to me when I came to his office. Surprisingly enough it made me laugh.
I was having a pretty crumby morning up until then...
What's the craziest "getting bigger" comments you have gotten? Did it make you laugh or mad?

Re: Fat references
My dad hosts Sunday cookouts with our family, and he makes amazing food! I reclined back in my chair after eating a ton and said, "I'm stuffed!"
He replied, "You look stuffed."
Normally, I would be offended, but my dad and I always crack jokes at one another, and I couldn't help but laugh.
I walked into work the other day and there was a lady there who I see maybe every two weeks or so. As soon as I walk in she looks up at me and says, "Wow, you're getting fat."
She knows that I'm pregnant, so I don't know if she was joking, but she didn't have a joking tone in her voice! Thanks you wrinkly old goat.
I just had someone in my office say something similiar-I wanted to punch her in the FACE.

"Wow, so are you!" That would probably be my initial response back.
I know! I had all these great comebacks in my head, but I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. WTF brain?
1 "you don't look pregnant in your lab coat, you look like a little fat girl".
2 I commented to a patient that she seemed to have lost weight since the last time I saw her and asked how her eating was... Husbands response "looks like u gained whatever she lost"
3 "I don't even recognize u from behind anymore".
*dies laughing* *cough*
I mean this ^^. Seriously though, that is a bit rude. Even if someone is putting on a few pounds, it's quite rude to point it out. I had to tell that to a young coworker today because she was gossiping about a girl who'd previously been quite thin, but lately has been gaining quite a bit of weight. Turns out not only did her father pass away, but she also lost a very old family pet the same week. So she's been quite depressed. Poor girl probably isn't sure how to handle everything. It makes me sad that people can be quite rude. =/
I got a comment the other day that I didn't look 7 months preg, rather looked slightly pregnant and bloated like when you eat too much. I was just like "Thanks -__-"
There's this one guy at work, who is the VP of one of hte unions and because I do labor/employee relations work, I sometimes work closely with him on things.
The other day, he was in the office and he said, "How are the *three* of you doing?" Umm, I'm only carrying one. I realize I'm huge...that's because the baby is huge.
I know he was just joking, but come on! A little tact never hurt anyone.
I'm sorry, but the couch comment made me laugh. That is such a strange thing to compare a person to. My 6 year old brother told me that I was getting "fatter and fatter" a couple of months ago. It was really hilarious to me, but I've never been concerned about my weight and he's just a kid.
