Bed Sheets for a Christmas gift to stepkids?

I work as an executive/personal assistant, and my boss has two stepchildren, and she has me buy a bunch of her gifs and help her organize everything.  One of the many things she purchased that had me shaking my head, was the $300 set of bed sheets for the kids to take to their BM's house.  Not only one set each, but 2 sets.  She told me that they are from Mrs. Claus :)  I had to laugh because I've spent at least 3 hours finding the perfect set of sheets, with the correct thread count.  I just wonder what their BM will think?  I'd probably steal them from my DD, because I would love to have these sheets..LOL

That is all...

  • my stepkids would like them....as long as they had batman or zebra prints on them!!

don't think they would check to see how soft they are though!

  • I've gotten DS sheets for his birthday and Christmas. He loves them but he'd rather get them "just because" instead of for Christmas. Man though if DS came home with $300 sheet sets I don't even know what I'd think...

  • We have gotten the kids new sheets and comforters for part of their Christmas before. DD actually put Zebra sheets on her Christmas list this year LOL. We always give the kids something they "need" for Christmas. They get at least 1 want, wear, need and read in addition to their Santa gift & stocking.

  • I wouldn't have a clue how expensive they are unless the price tag is right on them. I would probably just think it was strange she bought them each two sets of sheets, lol.

I love the whole want, wear, need, read- Im going to have to keep that in mind! OP- I think that is a silly amount to spend on sheets for children regardless of age and I would be shaking my head!

  • I'm getting DD and SS bedsheets as one of their gifts... I don't see anything wrong with it. However, I'd never send expensive sheets like that to BM's house. lol. I guess I'm a biotch.

  • I would KILL for good sheets.  KILL I say.

As for gifting to kids, if they were older and that was what they wanted (ie, a specific design) then go for it.

But if they are younger OR they are getting expensive white/cream sheet, then no.

I'm with illumine in that I would kill for some awesome sheets. I went to a decorators showcase a few years ago and touched some sheets that I can only imagine were seen by angels as they were truly heavenly. I was all if they are less than 500 I am buying them apparently there was also crack being piped into the air. Price tag 1500. WHAT?!?!?

I am guessing anyone who spends 1200 on sheets for kids is probably not concerned at all with money and that is just pocket change. Can you sneak in a set for me???

Are the sheets the only gifts she is getting or this is one in addition to toys and more stuff?

No, the gift list is pretty extensive.  maybe I am just cheap and can't justify spending that much on sheets.

They are white..lol I wanted to add an extra set to the order for me.

I totally get buying bedding as a gift, and if I did I wouldn't send it to BM's. It just seems a little weird to me, like if I were to buy my stepkids towles and send them to BM's...
