doctors & hospital rant !!

Monday: i have a make up appointment, the doctor says 3cm and does a stretch, she says expect pink or brown in discharge but call if there is any bright red. and order a growth ultrasound (making sure im not going to have another large baby; if so opting to have another csection & not trying for a trial of labor vbac)

Tuesday afternoon: bright red in mucus, call the office and nurse says to come in for a check at 3:45 ........i see the doctor he says 3cm 80% effaced, baby is 8lbs. my options are to a> if i still want a vbac to go home and wait b> go in for a csection tonight. To avoid any risk we opt for a csection (my last baby was ;"8lbs" had 14hrs of labor and ended up with a csection bc he was to large to deliever , he was 9lbs 12oz) . we page the on-call doctor , she says to try and be there before 12 or else its inconsiderate to her and the staff. It wasnt going to happen (babysitter would be getting off of work at 11:30 and still had to drive almost 2hrs home), so we page her again to see if that would be okay or if she just wanted us to come in the AM. we wait and end up trying to get some sleep, wake up at 3:??am, still didnt get a call, so he page her again with the same question, wake up at 6am, stillllll no phone call back. PAGE her again! finally she calls and yells at us "umm were we're you guys u should have been here at 1:20...... um no we werent you said not to come in after 12 and we have been waiting to find out if it was okay if we came late....she says oh well the message i got from the phone service was "you were running late and you would be here at 1:30....... OKAY THEN why didnt you get back to us on that when we called at 3?!?!?! then she says oh well we thought you changed your mind and wanted a vbac or all the nurses thought you were holding out to have the baby on 12/12/12 ......(YEA BECAUSE I JUST KNEW THE DOCTOR WAS GOING TO SEND ME FOR A CSECTION A WEEK BEFORE A CSECTION (abackup date) was ALREADY GOING TO HAPPEN oh AND I KNEW this baby was going to be 8lbs) anyways she says uh fine anyways I can tell your not in full blown labor or you would have been here sometime last night and your talking fine, anyways come between 7:30-8am because there arent any csections scheduled

7:30 not in the computer to have a csection, they call up to l&d, they say to send me up. we go up there and the nurse says everyone is trying for 12/12/12 (GRRRRR) new doctor comes on. nurse says well your going to be here awhile the doc is in a csection now and has another two lined up ... i ask her if they were emergency csections, she says no they were SCHEDULED! fastfoward doctor says oh well your not in active labor and your 38 5days i cant do a csection until 39weeks unless your in active labor, go home after another ultrasound and schedule your csection friday. sorry but WTF!!!

Have you tried calling your normal doctor instead of dealing with the on-call OB? It seems like they would know what's up and be able to get you in before Friday, since that's what they wanted to do in the beginning.

second rant warning :P : yea my husband tried calling while we were still in the hospital, and called once more after......no call back. The on-call doctors are all from the same practice so im sure thats why he hasnt responded. i really hate this practice for a number of reasons but they are the only place that my insurance allows and the practice completely monopolized the whole county +++ more, so even paying out of pocket isnt an option. My husband calls the whole place a revolving door and i cant deny that anymore.
