So, last week, my SO surprised me by cleaning up. It was lovely to find stuff off the table, etc.
Fast forward to this morning... I'm looking EVERYWHERE for my checkbook. It HAD been on the table when I was doing bills. After much looking, turns out that he cleaned by putting everything from downstairs in a box and putting it up in the office. When looking through it, I also found bills that hasn't gotten paid. Oops. I know he was trying to help but that doesn't help. Ugh.
Re: Men can't clean...
I may have to second this post. Hah! We do everything electronically because I can't keep up with the paper mail we get and he checks it. He's really good about paying the bills if they are paper, but he's NOT good about not putting them at the end of our counter top and they just sit and collect. I made him a cute little basket and if it has his name on it, it goes in there.
My husbands worst thing is when he sweeps he doesn't shake out the rugs or move stuff. He just sweeps around it. Laundry basket on the floor? NO PROBLEM! Sweep around it.
My DH way of cleaning is a combination of the out of sight-out of mind mentality where if its behind a closed door he doesn't care...and the throw it all away mentality. I never know what mood he is going to be in, so I try to keep everything that needs to be gone through and cleaned out in a room where I can just shut the door and hide it from him..
but again, that's how my office now doubles as a junk room
oops
I hadn't thought about that part. Crud. May have to clean the office this weekend...
my DH is an awful cleaner too.. .He also just shoves things in the drawers and considers it put away. Same thing with clothes, just shoves them into a drawer after they've been rolled into a ball. Then he's super frustrated when they are wrinkled.
