why so difficult to get md appt...

Plus 45 days since AF. 4 negative HPTs 1 week apart. finally broke down and called Dr.'s office. of course this is holiday season and all but first appt available is mid jan. i asked for blood pregnancy test order which will be ready today. my question to you ladies is, how many days since conception is enough for blood test? say is 7d enough or 14? i dont know my cycle yet but i'm now ready to start charting if only AF would hurry...

    Yeah, you're wasting money and the doctor's time.  60 days without AF or a BFP and then you can call the doctor.

    A lot of doctors won't see you until you hit CD60+ with no period.

    If you aren't charting, then test once a week until you either get your period, a BFP, or hit CD60 with neither at which time you should call your doctor to see what your next step is.

    There are several women that have ovulated CD40+...

    If you aren't charting your BBT, then there is NO need for a blood test until you test positive on a pee stick (and even then, it's not necessary) or hit that CD60 mark and are going on something to jump-start your cycle.   If your HPTs are negative, then you're not pregnant.

    Yep.. I'm fairly certain that I ovulated around CD80 on one of my cycles. As PPs have said, don't waste the doctors time!

    Why are you wasting your time and money, and a doctor's time to get a blood test?  The standard is 60 days without a + test or AF, then you need to see your doctor.

    Also, it's hard to get an appointment for something like you want (a blood PT), because doctors like to keep appointments opne for people that NEED them.  You don't.

    So it worked out that appt is in Jan, I'll hit CD60 end of next week. At least I'm not taking up unnecessary appt time since my annual is also due Jan. But I won't go in for blood test I'll just let the order sit until I need it. Thanks for the tips ladies.

    Four negative tests means you aren't pregnant. If you don't temp, you don't know your cycle, when you ovulated, or that you're late. Suck it up and wait it out. And when AF does show, whenever it is, start temping.

    In the meantime, read the newbie link and check out TCOYF.

    Just read the newbie link, thanks everyone. Colerose, I read everyone's post. But what I was saying on my reply was that this appt was dual purpose (one purpose now since I'm not pregnant) is that it's for my regular annual exam anyway. I wanted it to be Dec b/c I mistakenly thought that I may be preggers but since not it worked out that my appt as it should be, in Jan. And I will save time and money and skip blood test for now.

     Hqinmd, thanks for the book rec, saw that on newbie link too. I signed up for ff.com and got therm. yesterday. I kind of excited a out it, is that weird?

     I can see it is frustrating to same posts with questions especially uninformed questions that can be addressed in the newb link, my apologies ladies. Still thanks for pointing out the right place to look.
