One of my friends recommended this iPad app called "Baby Visual Stimulation". She said it drew her 2-month-old baby's attention. I tried with my 4-month-old daughter and she loves it!!! she smiled at the images and especially when I let her touch the screen and leave little colorful "paws"... The music is lovely too.
This is the first app I ever purchased on iPad (usually I download only free apps coz I'm not sure of the quality...). Turned out that the 2 dollar paid was so worthwhile when I saw my girl's smile... .
I heard that visual stimulation is important for little babies' brain development. Think I'd share this to other parents.
Re: Baby visual stimulation app
A screenshot of the app:
ditto - their brains are being wired, and using a screen you are wiring their eyes/brain and to need brightly backlit visual stimulation in order to process images. we're stricter than most, but my daughter has had nothing but glances here and there of any screen, tv, ipad, computer, anything.

thanks for the remind! I agree that their little eyes should not stare at a screen for long. I'd be careful with the screen time. I use the app for a minute or two when she gets fussy or too boring, it distracts her attention and calms her down. I also set the backlight low. At least worked in my case. Would this be fine?
Seems that babies are naturally interested in lights. When I give her a bath, she looked at light so often. Of course, I don't let her do that, but she's just interested... And her daddy's computer screen, just interested than any other toy... Maybe because she's still too young?
