Two Under 2

Sleeping arrangements outside home

DD will be 22 months when #2 is born. Currently, she is with my in-laws or at a babysitters house when I work. She sleeps in a PNP at both places. What have you done with sleeping arrangements for 2 little ones? I'm assuming DD will still need to be in a PNP. Should I buy an extra one for each place (babysitter and in-laws) or do you know of any other options? Just wondering what people have done in similar situations. I plan on getting PNP at consignment shop or craigslist, but that just seems like a lot to have 2 in a room! Any suggestions are appreciated!

Re: Sleeping arrangements outside home

  • We had the Rock n play sleeper in the early months--that helped a ton and takes up far less space. It's really lightweight so it would travel much better than a pnp and you could easily bring it in your car and unfold it when you arrive at the sitter's house.

  • My DD sleeps on a cot at daycare for naps - maybe your older DD can start transitioning to that?

  • At DC most kids transition to a napmat or sleeping bag around a year old.  I'd transition your older one to that and use the PNP for baby.  Also if she is at your IL's, she could just sleep on a regular bed.  We moved DD out of her crib into twin bed around 20months old.
